Saturday's Serie A predictions and previews including Inter Milan vs. Monza

Today's Serie A predictions include Inter Milan's clash with Monza, and a contest between Genoa and Napoli.

Inter Milan vs. Monza (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Inter Milan's title defence kicks off on Saturday evening, when the reigning Serie A champions welcome newly promoted Monza to San Siro.

While Inter will fight to retain the title, their visitors are simply targeting survival after bouncing back from relegation at the first attempt.

We say: Inter Milan 3-0 Monza

Relentless towards the end of last term and again in pre-season, Inter have strengthened their squad and could take some stopping in Serie A.

Their Scudetto defence will surely start with a win over Monza, who only finished third in Italy's second tier before scraping through the playoffs.

Udinese vs. Como (Saturday, 5.30pm)

After last term's stunning top-four finish, Como will kick off the new Serie A campaign with a trip to Udinese on Saturday.

Languishing in Italy's third tier just six years ago, the Lariani are now preparing for Champions League football; meanwhile, their hosts have already made a successful start to the 2026-27 season.

We say: Udinese 1-1 Como

Udinese can be stubborn opponents and have an established pattern of play under Runjaic, so they can claim a point against ambitious Como on Serie A's opening matchday.

Now established as one of Italy's top teams, Fabregas and co will face different challenges this season, which may lead to some frustration.

Parma vs. Cagliari (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Two likely rivals for survival will clash at Stadio Tardini on Saturday evening, as Parma and Cagliari kick off a new Serie A campaign.

Both clubs progressed in the cup when they returned to competitive action last week, but now they must vie for precious league points.

We say: Parma 1-0 Cagliari

Although Parma's star players are being picked off by bigger clubs, Cuesta has built a solid base at Stadio Tardini. Cagliari are not traditionally great travellers, and they produced just four away wins last season, so the hosts will edge a tight contest.
